Rules for debating on this blog.

While I haven’t actually discussed this with any of the other posters on this blog, I am sure that they will agree with what I have to say. I don’t like rules, which some of you may find odd being that I am a Christian, but being a human it is in my nature. However rules are important as they give structure and direction to us who like to rebel. So being as how I don’t like rules, I am only going to set one, NO RED HERRINGS.

What is a Red Herring? Many of you may be familiar, but here is a definition for those who are not:

Red herring is an English-language idiom, a logical fallacy that misleads or detracts from the issue.

So if the topic being discussed is [the definition of atheism] then that is what we will be discussing. There is absolutely no need for us to then get into the arguments for the existence of God, if discussing a topic like this (that is something we are working our way towards but must set up the foundation first). This also means that if the first premise of the Kalam Cosmological Argument is being discussed, then you will have to wait before you go getting into the second premise.

If you are in violation of these rules, expect that we will call you on your red herring and if you fail to get back on track with what the original post was discussing, we will simply stop talking to you. Anyways, that’s all I have to say on that.
